When Rob Arps graduated from the University of Oregon’s Fine Arts program with a degree in sculpture he never imagined he would be doing the things he is today. After college he sought employment doing Point-Ups in foundries. It was there he honed is craft and constantly researched ways to improve and modernize the process of the ancient art of Bronze. His dream was realized in 2005 when he founded the Additive Workshop. A company named for the very process he studied and a company whose philosophy is founded on the idea of merging classical sculpting methods with the best modern technology has to offer.

The Additive Workshop, situated in the Scenic Pacific Northwest just outside of Portland Oregon, is a full service studio and 3D workshop that combines traditional sculpting methods with cutting edge technology to reduce or enlarge artwork with perfect accuracy to any conceivable scale. Rob and his talented team utilize their vast knowledge of anatomy, composition, rendering, and materials to help you realize the full potential of your artistic vision. By combining classical sculpting methods with the modern technology of High Resolution Scanners, 7 Axis Machining and 3D Photopolymer Printers they can assist you in rendering your work to any scale. The Technology industry is always changing, you have to stay on the cutting edge or risk getting left behind. We are constantly seeking out the newest machinery and techniques to keep ourselves one step ahead.
